NEW DELHI: Oppo has launched its latest 5G smartphone in India, the Oppo A78 5G, in India at a price of Rs 18,999.

The Oppo A78 5G will be available in a single variant of 8GB RAM+128GB storage for purchase from January 18, at retail outlets, Oppo e-store, and Amazon.

The smartphone is said to support the 5G standalone (SA) network, which is being deployed by Reliance Jio, and the 5G non-standalone (NSA) being deployed by Bharti Airtel. It will also support Vodafone Idea’s 5G network as and when the telco rolls out its network.

The Oppo A78 5G has a 6.56-inch LCD display with a 90Hz refresh rate. The smartphone has a dual rear camera setup comprising 50MP and 2MP sensors, and a front camera of 8MP.

The Oppo smartphone is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 700 chipset and has a 5000mAh battery that supports 33W fast charging. On the software side, it runs on ColorOS 13 based on Android 13 operating system (OS).

Oppo A78 also supports Wi-Fi 2.4GHz/Wi-Fi 5GHz, Bluetooth v5.3, Fingerprint, and Facial Recognition.

The Oppo 5G comes in two color variants: Glowing Black and Glowing Blue.

Oppo has rolled out software upgrades to Reno 8, Reno 8 Pro, Reno 7, F21 Pro 5G, F19 Pro+, K10, and A53s, the brand said in a statement adding that other models will be enabled for “SA network shortly.”
